Introducing Gala Ester Suarez Melo, a passionate coffee producer from Nuevo Amanecer farm in Colombia's picturesque Magdalena region. With 15 years of dedication, Gala cultivates 5 hectares of exquisite Castillo coffee at an altitude of 1,703 meters. Their harvest season, spanning from October to January, yields 25,000 plants, aged 2 to 5 years.
Gala's family is deeply involved in this labor of love. Her husband, Luis Carlos, expertly depulps and washes the coffee, while their son herds the beans. Their daughters showcase their culinary skills, creating delicious meals. Together, they form a tight-knit team.
Sustainability thrives at Nuevo Amanecer. Manual weed control preserves the natural surroundings, respecting water sources. Gala's farm employs 10 locals during harvest and contributes to the community by maintaining clean roads.
Surrounded by the beauty of their flourishing farm, Gala and her family find fulfillment and sustenance. Coffee isn't just their livelihood; it's their legacy.
